SydneyMusic.net needs your support!

SydneyMusic is easily the most comprehensive data resource that our city has of live music events at all levels, across Greater Sydney/Eora.

Begun as a passion project, we’ve tracked over 11,000 gigs in the project’s 2.5 year lifetime, and we now cover an average of 120 gigs per week - all researched, edited and compiled by humans, spanning DIY house shows and one-offs to theatres and stadiums.

We publish this resource for free with a goal to increase participation in our music ecosystem, and we hear feedback from readers every week telling us that they see more live music because of what we do.

Where we're at right now

• It takes 50 hours a week to make the guide the trustworthy and dependable resource that it is.

• SydneyMusic currently receives on average about $387 per week in community support

• We have been advised by local councils and government funding bodies that our organisation is not eligible for grants at this time

• The resource costs $1,300 per week to maintain including employing musicians and creatives to help with the workload

We’re working to find ways for the project to become self-sustaining, but to make this a reality is going to require significant amounts of time, focus and a team to help us get there.
