I remember once I was in this random studio in an old run down house in the back hills behind Byron. The studio engineer there started telling us a story about a session he'd just wrapped up, all wild-eyed: "I just had this band here called Zeahorse, they were so loud, they were so intense, the entire house was shaking from the noise they were creating... and then suddenly a lightning storm kicks off right above us and raged for hours creating this intense energy - we all thought the house was about to get hit". He then proceeded to play some of the session and... well I'll be damned if it didn't sound like the most colossal stoner rock approximation of a thunderstorm I'd care to think of. I need to see Zeahorse, that little anecdote really made an impression on me, but I've never got to seeing them. Repo Man I've recently discovered while updating this gig guide, and their 2021 album is also a fucking legendary thing of beauty: a post-punk punk-post gloom-psych broodgaze epic, RIYL The Chameleons UK, Bauhaus, Ride, Joy Division, Porcupine Tree, heck I reckon those new guys Enclave or maybe PEEL have a thing or two in common with them... hopefully that covers enough of you?

Billed as a festival comprised of the many artists and projects that intersect with a local studio producer Bobby Gray (as a clarification, that's "producer" as in: "turns your demos into proper recordings", not "plays a gig with Ableton Live and a make-believe tabletop modular synthesiser"). So anyway, it appears that Bobby's put on a lineup of artists he's worked with and he'll be DJing a bit around it. Great way to make a community around an environment visible! Hope it's a lovely night!
