This night will be a moment. Perfect Actress arrived fully formed the second they played their first show and they've been gigging solidly since. With Marcus Whale on bass (and some gorgeous vocal lead moments), Gus McGrath (California Girls) on drums, and Naomi from Carnations on vox and keys (update: Perfect Actress wrote in to round out the background info: “Darren’s first band was called Ethix and he’s a guitar protege who opened for Short Stack once :)”. They rule and they're launching their debut EP at this gig. Lottie World is an 'effervescent bedroom pop diva', according to P.A.

Front bar show with some of Sydney's - and I'm taking their words here - "weirdest musicians". Three live music sets with an additional "extra special cabaret/sideshow performance" from "former paralympian, Cirque du Soleil and Coney Island cast" Sarah Birdgirl.

The Whole Wide World, tonight launching their latest single 'Psychic Showdown', were formerly known as Griffin Ford & The Variables, HR House Band, and Letter Openers (and presumably also at various points Kathleen Turner Overdrive, Sonic Death Monkey, and Barry Jive & The Uptown Five). It's never too late to reinvent yourselves, folks.

Victoria is Max from Songs, Alison from Smudge, and Patrick and Cameron from Youth Group. Nice to see all these legends coalesce into something new, and something really fun! I saw an early show of theirs at Hiway Bar and it ticks all the boxes you'd hope they would. Some nice wandery Pavement or Built To Spill-like vibes in amongst it, and vocal duties are split between the axe-wielders. Should make for a great free front bar show.
