Powerhouse Museum

Second edition of this Invasion Day event curated by First Nations social enterprise We Are Warriors. If you were at last year's event — especially Barkaa's powerful, raw set — you know how special it was. There will also be market stalls, art, and a WAW film premiere, as well as a mystery special guest scheduled before 3%'s set. The event is free, but for non-First Nations attendees, we highly recommend buying some merch on the night if you can, or donating to an Indigenous organisation based on Gadigal or the country you live or work on.

This is an end of year celebration of the Powerhouse Late program, with previous collaborators and performers contributing to this event.

Huge exhibition celebrating the history and incredible range of talent that came through the doors of the sadly missed Hoey - every night, every week. For a kid from the country that moved to Sydney with no inroads to discover Sydney's local music scene beyond international gig supports and triple j, the Hoey was a sudden explosion of access to so many subcommunities within our local live music community. The threads still run deep - and there's never been a space that's quite taken its place. RIP Hoey. What will be your spiritual successor?

Incredible lineup for a special Powerhouse Late event curated by Liquid Architecture and Del Lumanta, alongside the '1001 Remarkable Objects' exhibition.

Debut show for this new experimental live format by Sally Coleman that's been in the making for literally years - a virtual character created using Unreal Engine and performed with motion capture. Part of the Powerhouse Museum's "Late" series, there will be two performances on the evening: one at 6pm and 8pm.

Heckin' stacked cast, suspect this will be a pretty fast rotation through this sizeable number of performers. "A night championing Sydney’s diverse and vibrant LGBTQIA+ music communities, Powerhouse Late: Queerbourhood features live music and performances curated by Jonny Seymour and Paul Mac who have been supporting Sydney’s emerging queer artists for decades."
