Alright!!! So you're all across Sydney's burgeoning weirdo scene yes? It's probably always been there, but certainly at least for me I'd only encountered the absolute fringes. But here once again is absolutely infatiguable agent of party Doctor Robot ("from the year nine million!"), the costumes, the talk box, the tin whistle solos that temporarily elevate you to the heavenly realms (tell me I'm wrong) - what I'm saying is he rules. Scruffamudda: absolutely mayhemic but relentlessly catchy sonic-blender (loops and bleeps and rapping). The other acts I don't know but we'll both probably know them soon. I sense a scene really beginning to build here and it's fucking glorious. Don't be too late to the party: live a little. Trust me.

We welcome any and all efforts to make Sydney weirder. What's your flavour? A "drag superhero who embodies and defends their own ideals of empathy, self-expression, autonomous identity and gender non-conformity"? "Bizarre and off-beat songs ... about Club Sandwiches"? "Songs about Mum culture, Yoga, Grant Denyer and more"?

Don't know who Basil's Kite are, but Justice Yeldham is great if watching a guy literally smash a sheet of glass against his face with contact mics attached is your thing. He's been at it for decades now. JY will never die, it would seem.

Daz/Darren/D.C./"it's the guy from Gerling" Cross is in a sublime acoustic duo with Jessica Cassar that has been active since 2012. In this show they're performing separately with their own projects. I've seen Daz play solo - he's doing sublime, meditative reflections in acoustic fingerpicking form. Gorgeous stuff. And for JESSICA I'll just take it straight from the ticket description: "described as 'Kate Bush on Valium'".

Two Melbourne bands described as "furious powerviolence/hardcore-punk attack" and "raging hardcore" tell us they are coming to "stomp on the state of New South Wales". Stomp! Have a stompin' good time, legends!

They're launching their new single... wait for it... it's called... "Blue Shell The 1%". Hey speaking of, has anyone noticed that Facebook events now don't hyperlink to the tickets? They're so bitchy about wanting a cut that they make you copy and paste the URL into a new tab. So petty!
