Well shit: all this time I've been entering gigs for Dog Trumpet completely oblivious to who they were... "Dog Trumpet is spearheaded by brothers Peter O'Doherty and Reg Mombassa who were founding members of iconic Australian band Mental As Anything"

Perry Keyes

5:00pm Django Bar @ Camelot Lounge

JH

I've heard Perry Keyes talked about in hushed reverent tones by songwriters that know their stuff - seems like he's a real one that has just plugged along with his craft. This might be your opportunity to confirm that. From ticket description: "According to the Sydney Morning Herald, 'Keyes is the best chronicler of Sydney we've ever had'"

The Gadflys

7:00pm Django Bar @ Camelot Lounge

NB:

"1980s CANBERRA, ‘a dysfunctional, socialist utopia.’ Politicians, public sculpture and no culture. Home to the Gadflys, a group who emerged amidst the unlikely yet burgeoning Canberra punk scene, they soon transcended the strictures of punk and ’80s synth pop to develop a unique style. Opting to play acoustic instruments – classical guitar, clarinet and double bass – their sound became less abrasive and more melodic though they still retained the urgency and energy of punk."
